It is the most important thing that we do every day. Safety is our moral, ethical and legal obligation and is at the core of everything that we do. INNOVATION

Client and passenger expectations are continuously growing every day. With budget constraints, we are expected to do more with less.

Over the past several years, BTS has developed and seamlessly integrated a transportation management system to automate all areas of the transportation life-cycle. With a combination of in-house developed software and third party intelligent transportation systems, BTS is now able to provide a comprehensive and scalable solution to even the fussiest client.

Software – Our transportation management system, CanRide is an online tool that manages the day-to-day transportation operations. The software program includes modules for client profile storage, fleet management, efficient automated scheduling, route generation, driver and vehicle assignment, dispatching, vehicle tracking and reporting.

Intelligent Transportation Systems – our ITS technology includes GPS tracking system, on-board tablets, real-time dispatch communications system, security cameras, auto-announcement for stops, automated fare media collection, door alarm sensors, beacons and real-time engine diagnostics.

Our Drivers
We recognize that for our organization to be successful, to satisfy customers’ requirements and to safely transport customers, we must hire and retain qualified drivers

As part of our driver selection and retention strategy, we have a step-by-step policy for screening, interviewing, selecting and training of drivers.

Some factors we consider when screening drivers include:

  • Clean driver’s abstract
  • Clear vulnerable sector screening check (criminal check)
  • First Aid & CPR training
  • Drug & alcohol screening

The BTS driver training program is one of the most comprehensive training programs in the transportation industry. It includes a series of training modules that span nearly 2 weeks. Our training starts with our initial orientation and induction program. Upon completion, drivers move into enter a 5-day in-depth and in-class training session in which they progress through a dozen training modules including driver responsibilities, driver conduct, pre-tripping, proper vehicle use, standard operating procedures, securement, passenger management, loading and unloading, AODA, information technology systems, sensitivity, smith system, accidents, emergencies and much more. Once the in-class training is complete, drivers are then required to do a test road, followed by a 24 hour behind-the-wheel training program. All of this is completed prior to a driver being put in service.

Vehicle Fleet

We have one of the largest and most diverse fleets of any specialized transportation provider

 

Our fleet includes ambulatory and accessible vehicles ranging from sedans all the way up to buses, and everything in-between. All of our vehicles are late-model and well maintained through our proactive and preventative online maintenance program.

BTS vehicles are well equipped with the latest and greatest technology. Through our core business of providing transportation and removing single occupant vehicles from the streets, our company’s business practices are based on connecting communities and reducing pollution.
